Das Allgäu leuchtet
“The Allgäu shines” – light parade for a good cause
Drive together, help together: on Saturday 12 December 2026, festively lit vehicles roll through the wintry Upper Allgäu – a sea of lights against the backdrop of the Allgäu mountains, for a good cause. All donations go to the St. Maria therapeutic children’s home (Heilpädagogisches Kinderheim) in Oberstaufen/Kalzhofen.

[ b / what it’s about ]
A shining convoy for the children
When festively lit vehicles roll through the wintry Allgäu landscape, the aim is not only to create an impressive sea of lights but also to send a strong signal of solidarity and helpfulness. The light parade combines a passion for vehicles and atmospheric lighting with a social message: together we can achieve a lot.
Donations from participants, spectators and clubs are collected during the light parade. They go to the St. Maria therapeutic children’s home in Oberstaufen/Kalzhofen – the group voted for this together. The motto is: “Every contribution counts!” Even small donations can make a big difference together.
Whether with your own vehicle, with friends, as a team, club or with the whole family – everyone is invited to be part of this special event. And if you’re not driving: come to the route and watch! The light parade is to take place every year on an Advent weekend.

What your vehicle could look like
Mario’s car last year. How you decorate your vehicle is up to you – as long as it’s pretty and colourful. Fairy lights can also go inside on the windows. You’ll find more ideas on YouTube or TikTok under “Lichterfahrt”.

Conditions for all vehicles
01DecoratedEvery vehicle is decorated – at least one string of lights visible from both sides and from the back. Car, trailer, quad, motorbike: everything is welcome.
02Securely attachedEverything must be attached so that nothing can happen. Don’t skimp on fixings for lights on the outside – better one more roll of tape.
03ConsiderationNobody – neither participants nor spectators – may be put at risk. No posing, no drifting, no hard acceleration. That’s the only way the parade can take place again next year.
04Filming welcomePhotos, videos and livestreams are welcome – as long as the people shown agree.
